Boring Sony Marker Labeler
Sony in-camera markers, carried through to the NLE.
Carries Sony in-camera clip markers and on-set highlight notes through to the NLE, so editors instantly see where the clips and highlights are instead of scrubbing every take.
Three steps. No drama.
Shoot like you already do
Drop clip markers in-camera and note highlights on set — the metadata Sony already writes, that every NLE then ignores.
Run it on the cards
Point the app at the offloaded media. It reads the Sony marker metadata and pairs it with your highlight notes.
Open the edit with the map drawn
The markers and notes arrive in the timeline. The editor starts at the moments, not at 00:00 of every take.
What it does.
- 01In-camera clip markers survive into the edit
- 02On-set highlight notes ride along with the footage
- 03Editors jump straight to the moments that matter
- 04No more scrubbing whole takes
Built inside a working production company — because our own editors were scrubbing takes our cameras had already annotated.
The honest answers.
Which cameras does it work with? +
Sony bodies that write clip markers to the card metadata. If your camera lets you drop a marker while rolling, that marker is what we carry through.
Does it touch my original media? +
No. It reads the metadata and writes the marker data alongside it for the edit. Your camera originals are never modified.
Why does this need to exist? +
Because the markers your camera records die on the card. The metadata is right there — NLEs just don’t look at it. This makes them look.
